Here is the video footage Xinhua news took of WWKIP Toronto Edition.

Are up! See here.

There are more here too, plus links to some media coverage here.

Some have asked if there is a rain date. There is not. In order to be a WWKIP event, we need to be doing it while the rest of the world is as well :)

I’m crossing my fingers that the rain stays off, however there is protective cover under the walkway that borders Nathan Phillips Square. Plus the entrance to the underground mall/PATH system is right where WWKIP is being held.

And of course, bring an umbrella if you can. The bigger the better - maybe we’ll be able to cram everyone under!

As many of you already know, yarn bombing will be part of Saturday’s festivities. But did you know that June 9th, in addition of being the first day of WWKIP Day around the globe, is also International Yarn Bombing Day?

I didn’t! Not until I read the Knitty blog today.

Can’t wait until Saturday!

Alright, Relay teams have been labelled:

Stix and String
Knitting Nation
String of Purls
Black Sheep
A Show of Stitches
K(#)TOG - we’ll change the number depending on how many people want to be on this one.
Team Queen (someone suggested this because we will be on Queen St that day)

Aaaaand go! Post your top 3 preferences here or email kniterly@gmail.com. Remember… there are prizes!
